"Slow Down" - Jessica Childress
I actually listened to this song a year ago, and was amazed at how much I enjoyed it. I simply sat down to practice mixing the tune, as well. I wanted to see how close my version would differ from this live version. Needless to say, I'm still practicing. The overall tone and texture of "Slow Down", has an old-school, soulful, R&B feel to it. Which is why I loved the feeling one would gather as a listener. Jessica Childress will definitely have you grooving to this song, as well as the percussion, and bass arrangement. The guitar performance was such "ear candy"! I would have loved a solo, maybe or even the keys. It was all pleasing to me. I absolutely enjoyed it. Therefore, I decided to remix it.
"Make Your Mark" - Doug Deluca
When I first listened to the original song, it was when it was apart of the Indaba Remix Contest. I enjoyed the song so much that I decided to add my own touch to it. Although, I didn't enter the competition I felt that it should at least be enjoyed. I basically experienced with brass section for the chorus and more of a marching band appeal on the break and/or chorus sections to add a bit of flavor. Let me know what you think.
